In Loving Memory of Grandpa

My grandpa passed away a week before Thanksgiving. These are some pictures of him that I thought were great (I hope the other people in the pictures don't mind that I put these up haha). He was the best grandpa ever!















DeLoy Bingham, age 74, of Twin Falls, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at his home after a long illness.

DeLoy was born March 29, 1934, to Charles James and Myrtle Maria Silcock Bingham in Burley. He attended school in Burley and Twin Falls and was a graduate of the Twin Falls High School Class of 1952. DeLoy married Barbara Lee Hill on April 29, 1954, in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple, and they were blessed with four daughters. DeLoy retired from the Amalgamated Sugar Company in 1996 after 39 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and camping with his family. The trips to Redfish Lake were especially memorable. DeLoy served in many church callings as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and particularly loved working with the youth.

He loved serving others, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed teasing his daughters and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.--DeLoy is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Debbie (Scott) Erwin of Rupert, Kandi (Jim) Holbrook of Northbrook, Ill., Lori (Joe) Casperson of Twin Falls and Terri (Don) Rigby of Provo, Utah; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Saunders of Ogden, Utah, and Dorothy Montgomery of Buhl.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Twin Falls LDS 15th Ward Chapel on the corner of Falls Avenue East and Hankins Road, with Bishop Mike Traveller conducting. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road in Twin Falls, and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service Saturday at the church. Internment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the many caregivers from Vision Hospice Care who so lovingly cared for him in his difficult illness.

My awkward moment...for this week

This weekend, I went to Divine Comedy with some of my friends. (For those of you who don't know what Divine Comedy is, it is a comedy show that BYU students put on. Most of the jokes are BYU related. It's great! I highly recommend it if you go to BYU.) We just happened to get tickets to a sold out show. After scooting to the middle of the row, I had one seat left open next to me. Right before the show started, the usher filled the empty seat next to me with a boy that I didn't know. I didn't get a chance to talk to him because the show was starting. He looked like he didn't want to be there. It was kind of sad. Anyway...as the show progressed, the side of my foot started to itch. I started rubbing my foot against what I thought was the pole of the seat in front of me...and then he moved his foot! I was SO embarrassed! He totally thought I was trying to play footsies with him! Why am I such an awkward person? So, since I couldn't leave, for the rest of the show I tried to sit really close to my roommate. It's a good thing it was dark because I'm SURE my face was bright red. Well, I hope that kid enjoyed himself. I hope he got a self-esteem boost because he thought some random girl was hitting on him.

Best Assignment Ever!

So, I am taking a film class right now (go figure, that's my major). One of our most recent assignments was to take pictures of ordinary every-day objects that we may not always notice. Here are a few of the pictures that I took. Enjoy!

This is a picture of a girl with a little Mohawk on the top of her head. I took this at Brad's football game. I found her hairstyle to be most interesting!

This picture was taken in my dad's office. That gold stuff that you see there is actually a long, long chain. It's made up of those chains you use to hang stuff around your neck when you're at a conference or something. I don't know why, but my dad collects them and keeps them in his desk drawer. I thought it would be a cool picture.







This is the inside of my roommate's mouth. How often do you really look under someones tongue? I thought it looked cool. If you look closely, you can see that she has a little ridge between the bottom of her mouth and her tongue. I've never noticed that on a tongue before. An ordinary thing that most people don't notice.


So, I was driving home one day and I saw this van as I drove past. I turned around to go take a picture of it because it had a stop sign and a yield sign in the back of it! REAL SIGNS! It looked like they had cut them down and put them in the back of their van. Isn't this highly illegal?






Why is it that pine trees always have a big bald spot on the back of them? When we bought Christmas trees as a family, I thought it was because the tree had been laid down. This picture has proven me wrong. All the tree's around it were like this also. This tree was still alive and just a baby! Why is it already bald?? Can anyone tell me? I would really like to know.

Okay, so I've been getting a lot of complaints that I haven't been updating my blog. I'm sorry people! I've just been super busy. I'm in the process of applying for my major. This weekend, I'm going to be shooting my film (one part of the application). I'll post the finished product when it is finished (in a few weeks). Until then...good day mates!

Hike the Y on the 24th of July!

This is what happened to me on the way down. I don't know how, but I fell. I got this beautiful mark on my leg as a result. The worst thing was, I had to teach relief society the next Sunday and everyone kept asking me what happened. I had to keep telling people that I fell down the mountain. Now that I look back, I should have made up a better story to tell people.

So, while we were hiking, I noticed that this guy in front of us was wearing a kilt. Honestly, it was kind of awkward for me because you hear that people usually don't wear anything under kilts. What if he slipped and fell!! It was just something that I didn't want to see while I was hiking. We let them get ahead of us so we wouldn't have to see anything that we didn't want to.

This is Colton and I on top of the Y. It was so pretty up there. You can see the whole valley! Colton brought a lot of candy to eat when we got up to the top of the Y. He was shocked when I said that I didn't really like to eat candy while I hike. He wasn't too disappointed though. That meant there was more for him. I made him wait until we reached the top to eat it.

Colton and I decided to hike the Y on the morning of the 24th of July. He was really excited to do it. It was fun because I usually don't get to spend time with just Colton. He talked the whole way up. It was fun to be around my little brother again. This is Colton getting tired on the way up. He was a good little hiker.

Hair Cut!

This is my new hair cut! It's shorter than I've had it in a while, but I like it.

This summer, our FHE group is awesome! Our FHE dad doesn't come because I guess he has better things to do. We don't have an FHE mom. So, basically, we are orphans. None of the guys in our group will come because they all are lame and busy! So, we have two apartments of girls that go. Usually, we have about 5 people there if we are lucky. It's actually been really fun because we can do a lot more with our activities. We don't have to worry about the big group things and we get to plan them and do whatever we want. For this particular activity, we played with my water balloon launcher. It was really fun! The launcher shoots them over 200 yards! We had a blast!

This was after FHE. I guess they wore me out. I basically passed out on my bed like this. Jessica was nice enough to take a picture of me. :/

Plasma!!

Jessica and I found a new way of making money. We donate plasma about once or twice a week.



This was after my first bad experience with giving plasma. For some reason my arm started bleeding really bad. Luckily, we were still at the plasma place. It bled through the bandage and made a little puddle on the floor. When I saw the blood running down my arm, I almost passed out! This picture was taken at my apartment after they had "cleaned it up." Obviously, they didn't get all of the blood off of my arm.

OIT!!

This summer I have been working at BYU. I'm
an accounting clerk for the Office of Information
Technology. Let's just say that sometimes we
get a little bored at work.
These are the ducks that we see every day on the way to work. There are actually a lot more of them, but these were the two that I happened to see today. They just had little baby ducks! They are so cute! They all walk in a line behind them.
So, one day, I was really bored. I decided to make this beautiful picture out of push pins on the wall. Do I have skill or what!
This is Jessica. She's my roommate and we also work together. This is one of many pictures taken at work. We have found that anything can be fun when you're really bored...even food. In this case, grapes!
This is Brad. I work with him. Um...yeah. This shows his personality really well. He's always thinking of crazy stuff. I actually don't remember what is on his head, but I remember that he left it there all day.

I was working at my computer one day and I could feel someone looking at me so I turned around and this is what I saw. I couldn't help but burst out in laughter.

If any of you know my dad, then this picture will not be a shock to you. My dad likes to dress up on my mom's birthday and Halloween. This particular time, he dressed up for Halloween. He went into my mom's work dressed up like this and she honestly didn't know who he was. It wasn't until he started talking that she finally realized it was my dad. He also had this costume on while he went to Colton's school. Many people from our ward didn't recognise him either. Yes, this is the bishop of our ward.

I think this was our family Christmas card one year. I don't know why, but we took it in front of our neighbor's tree. Maybe it's because my parents cut down all of the trees in our yard and planted little dinky ones.

All wet!

No, I didn't wet my pants. This was after riding Splash Mountain at Disneyland. We were SO wet! As you can see, I wasn't very happy. My dad would not stop laughing at me. He thought it was so funny that I was so miserable.

New Years Eve!! The original plan was to go sledding before the fireworks...but we decided that Rock Canyon park can be a little scary for three girls at night. So we just took this tube around with us. It actually served as a nice cushion for the fireworks.
